The Department of Psychology came into existence in 2002. Irrespective of its short history, it holds a very prestigious position in the social sciences in the Valley. In order to build firm grounding and strong learning base, students are imparted with the knowledge about theoretical foundations and its numerous branches such as Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy, Statistics and Research Methodology, Organizational Behaviour, and Biopsychology. The Department has shown considerable progress in terms of academic activities and produced students who have excelled at state and national level. Many of the Department’s alumnae have made their mark in various national and international organizations. The Department today comprises of 3 dedicated faculty members from diverse domains of psychology and nearly 1000 students are currently enrolled in different semesters, who are committed to both the academic and extra-curricular activities of the department.
